
Poster design for Simian Mobile Disco

Round one of the Adapta versus Sezio bout kicks off from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at Cream Coffee Bar, 4496 Park Blvd. in University Heights. The series will feature one Tijuana artist and one San Diego artists at Cream through December. First up is Tijuana design guru Daniel Meneses versus San Diego painter Mike Maxwell.

To celebrate the opening of this historic project, eight international artists have been invited to each realize a 3 poster set and a 4.5 square meter live art installation in the New Nike Sportswear store Mexico, and one of them was Popwhore.

I recently found this very nice portfolio from mexican art director & graphic designer Enrique Camacho. Enrique has been collaborating with agencies like Juxt Interactive or EVB, check out some of his work at Nolobo.com.

This graphic designer from Germany developed a very interesting way-finding-system for the Eureka Tower Carpark. The distored letters on the wall can be read perfectly when standing at the right position. De-War.

Mr. Sumkin's art is a synergistic blend of lovingly crafted pen & ink watercolors with biting social commentary. Although his typographical work belies the influence of Gothic, Art Nouveau, Wes Wilson and others, Mr. Sumkin remains deliciously unique. One would be hard pressed to chose between his exquisitely designed type and his fresh style of editorial & advertising illustration. Fortunately, they compliment each other beautifully.
